Teen Charged With Attempted Murder in Wawa Stabbing

The Gaithersburg Police Department have arrested a 17-year-old suspect in connection with a stabbing that injured two juvenile males Monday morning at the Wawa in Gaithersburg.

At approximately 11:38am on March 16, officers from the Gaithersburg Police Department and Montgomery County Police 6th District responded to the 400 block of South Frederick Avenue for a reported stabbing. When officers arrived, they located two juvenile male victims suffering from lacerations. Officers and bystanders provided medical aid until Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service personnel arrived. Both victims were transported to a local hospital with critical but non life-threatening injuries.

Later that evening, at approximately 9:00 pm, Gaithersburg Police Department detectives arrested a 17-year-old from Gaithersburg in connection with the incident. The suspect has been charged as an adult with two counts of attempted second-degree murder, two counts of first-degree assault, and two counts of dangerous weapon with intent. The suspect was transported to the Central Processing Unit. The investigation remains ongoing.
