Montgomery County Police 3rd District officers recovered a loaded handgun during a traffic stop in the White Oak area of Silver Spring on Tuesday.
According to MCPD 3rd District Commander Jason Cokinos, officers conducted a stop on Cherry Hill Road near Gracefield Road, where probable cause was established to search the vehicle. During the search, officers located a loaded handgun under the driver’s seat. The driver was arrested and transported to the Central Processing Unit.
Police said enforcement efforts along Cherry Hill Road are expected to continue through the weekend.
