Montgomery County Public Schools is inviting the community to lace up and take part in a brand new event aimed at making a meaningful impact. The first-ever Superintendent’s Shuffle will take place on Saturday, April 11 at Bohrer Park in Gaithersburg, bringing together students, families, staff, and residents for a morning focused on fitness and giving back.
The event will support the MCPS Educational Foundation’s “Dine with Dignity” campaign, which is working toward a $500,000 goal to eliminate student meal debt across the district. Organizers say the Superintendent’s Shuffle alone is aiming to raise $80,000 toward that effort, helping ensure all students have access to meals without financial barriers.
Participants can choose from several race options, including a timed competitive 5K, an untimed fun run or walk, a shorter family-friendly run for younger participants, and even a virtual 5K option for those who prefer to participate from anywhere. Registration begins at $30 and includes a race bib, event T-shirt, and access to event-day activities.
Check-in for the event begins at 8am, with the race kicking off at 9am at Bohrer Park. Organizers say the event is designed to be inclusive and welcoming to all fitness levels, while also raising awareness about the impact of student meal debt in the community.
