Montgomery County Police 3rd District officers conducted a traffic stop Friday evening in the 900 block of Sligo Avenue in downtown Silver Spring, where one of the occupants was found to be illegally in possession of a handgun.
According to MCPD 3rd District Commander Jason Cokinos, the adult suspect, who is not from Montgomery County, was taken into custody and transported to the Central Processing Unit, where they were booked.

In the 2AM incident there was no one shot, officers took a report for a vehicle with damage from a bullet. No further information was obtained and officers are investigating the circumstances.
