Montgomery County is preparing to launch a redesigned version of its official website on Monday, April 20, with a focus on making information easier to find and improving the overall user experience.
County Executive Marc Elrich announced the update in his weekly message, describing the redesign as a major step toward simplifying how residents access services, news, and department resources online.
The new site will feature a cleaner, more modern layout across all departments, along with improved navigation intended to help users locate information more quickly. The redesign also includes a full review of existing content, with outdated material removed to streamline the experience.
Feedback from the public played a significant role in shaping the changes. A survey of more than 5,700 users found that nearly 60% of visitors access the website on mobile devices. Many respondents reported difficulty finding information and moving between different County departments, issues the redesign aims to address.
To continue refining the site after launch, the County will introduce pop-up surveys that allow users to share real-time feedback. Officials say this will help identify and resolve navigation issues more quickly while continuing to improve usability.
Elrich is encouraging residents to explore the updated website once it goes live and to provide feedback as the County works to further enhance the platform.
