Detectives with the Montgomery County Department of Police Collision Reconstruction Unit are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in Rockville.
According to MCPD, at approximately 3:40 pm, officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded to North Horners Lane near Southlawn Lane, where 83-year-old Thuong Luu Thai of Silver Spring was found in the roadway with serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle. She was transported to a hospital, where she later died.
Preliminary findings indicate the driver of a black 2011 Acura RDX was traveling northbound on North Horners Lane when the vehicle struck Thai near the intersection. The driver remained at the scene, and investigators reported no signs of impairment. Thai’s path of travel remains under investigation as the case continues.
