Rockville Ace Hardware is set to celebrate its grand opening on Saturday, May 2 from 11am to 2pm, with a community-focused event featuring giveaways, family activities, and a range of limited-time deals.
Ace Hardware officially opened its new Rockville location on Thursday, February 19. The store is located at 835 Rockville Pike in Wintergreen Plaza, about a mile from the Rockville Metro station. The approximately 11,000 SF space sits alongside Food Lion and several popular dining spots within the shopping center.
The grand opening weekend will include special pricing on items like work gloves, lawn bags, and barbecue sauces, giving early visitors a chance to stock up on seasonal essentials. The first 100 customers through the door will receive swag bags filled with samples and take-home items, available while supplies last. Additional surprises are planned throughout the event.
Attendees can expect a mix of demonstrations and hands-on experiences, including live grill demos aimed at inspiring backyard cookouts, as well as free knife sharpening for those bringing blades in need of a refresh.
The event will also highlight community connections, with opportunities to meet local partners and the team behind the new store. Families are encouraged to attend, with activities such as face painting, balloon twisting, and other kid-friendly entertainment scheduled. A special appearance from Children’s National Hospital’s Dr. Bear is also planned.
As part of the celebration, visitors can enter raffles for several larger prizes, including a Weber Spirit E-210 gas grill valued at $449, an EGO Power+ string trimmer kit valued at $219, and a $200 room makeover package.
The grand opening is designed to introduce the new store while creating a welcoming, neighborhood-driven atmosphere for residents stopping by.
