Pike’s Peek 10K to Impact Traffic Along 355 Sunday

Drivers should expect significant traffic impacts this Sunday, April 26th as the 2026 Pike’s Peek 10K takes place along Route 355.

The race is scheduled to run from 7:50am to approximately 11am, with road closures in effect from 6:30am to noon. A large portion of Rockville Pike will be impacted, and officials are urging drivers to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time.

One northbound lane of Route 355 will remain open between Pike & Rose and the Metro Access Road during the race. All southbound lanes will stay open, but left turns that cross northbound traffic will not be permitted.

Short-duration closures are also expected at several key intersections, including Redland Road at Crabbs Branch Way, Yellowstone Way, and Somerville Drive, as well as Somerville Drive at the Metro Access Road.

Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes whenever possible. If traveling through the area during race hours, use caution and follow posted signs, cones, and directions from officers. The event is expected to bring increased foot traffic throughout the area, and officials are reminding drivers to stay alert to help keep participants and spectators safe.
