The Montgomery County Department of Transportation will host a free, family-friendly Safety Day event on Saturday, May 9, from 11am to 3pm at the Carver Educational Services Center, located at 850 Hungerford Drive in Rockville.
The one-day event will focus on driver, bike and pedestrian safety through interactive demonstrations, games and hands-on activities for all ages. Safety Day is organized and staffed by local high school students participating in Montgomery County’s Vision Zero Youth Ambassador program.
The event will include dozens of activities, community partners, free giveaways and prizes. It is designed as a festival-style event where families and residents can learn more about traffic safety in an engaging setting.
The event will take place in the CESC parking lot. A rain date is scheduled for Saturday, May 16. Free shuttles will run every 15 to 20 minutes from 10:30am to 3:30pm.
