Montgomery County athletes made their presence felt on a national stage this weekend, as Maryland Twisters MoCo out of Gaithersburg delivered a standout performance at the Prep & Rec Grand Nationals in Orlando, Florida.
Competing against top programs from across the country, athletes ranging in age from 5 to 17, representing both Montgomery and Frederick Counties, brought home top-three finishes across every team they entered. The Mini Dance and Youth Dance teams each captured first place in their divisions, while Tiny Cheer and Senior Cheer both earned second-place finishes. The Mini Cheer team rounded things out with a third-place finish in a highly competitive division featuring 15 teams.
The results cap off months of hard work and preparation. These athletes have been training together since June 2025, building the skills, chemistry, and discipline needed to earn bids to one of the most prestigious end-of-season competitions in cheer and dance.
From the youngest competitors stepping onto the mat for the first time to veteran athletes closing out their season on a high note, Maryland Twisters MoCo showcased the depth of talent and commitment within the program.
