Montgomery County Police responded Wednesday, April 29, around 11:29 am after a fight was reported in the Blake High School parking lot, where a Community Engagement Officer already on site was flagged down.
During the altercation, a handgun was discovered after it reportedly fell to the ground. A 19-year-old male was taken into custody at the scene.
Shortly after, a juvenile male arrived at a nearby hospital with a gunshot wound, and investigators believe he was involved in the initial fight. Police have secured the scene and said the investigation remains active. Montgomery County Public Schools placed the school in a hold status, with further updates to be provided by MCPS.
