Blake High School Student Charged in Parking Lot Shooting and Fight

A 17-year-old Blake High School student has been charged following a fight in the school’s parking lot that led to a handgun discharging on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

According to Montgomery County Police, the Silver Spring teen faces multiple charges, including first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, possession of a dangerous weapon on school property, carrying a loaded handgun, and felony use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.

Detectives say Wilson exchanged words with several other teenage males before a fight began. During the altercation, he was seen holding a handgun as another teen attempted to take it from him, at which point the firearm discharged. Montgomery County Public Schools security officers who witnessed the incident gave commands to drop the weapon, which was eventually placed on the ground, though the fight continued.

Police say 19-year-old Djibia Gombo then picked up the handgun and began to walk away before allegedly pointing it at a security officer and later placing it back on the ground. Gombo was taken into custody at the scene and charged with first-degree assault. Wilson was later transported by others to a hospital with gunshot wounds to his foot and knee and is currently awaiting extradition to Maryland. The investigation remains active.
