Montgomery County will host its annual Bike and Roll to School Day on Wednesday, May 6 from 8 to 9 am at Poolesville Elementary School.
The event will highlight pedestrian safety and encourage walking and biking as healthy transportation options, with participation from Montgomery County Department of Transportation staff, Montgomery County Police, and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.
The morning will include coordinated group bike rides starting at 8:15 am from Elgin Park, L M Stevens Park, and Bodmer Park, with students meeting at Whalen Commons before riding together to the school. The event will feature music, giveaways, and appearances by Zeal the Safety Zebra and Sparky the Fire and Rescue Dog, along with police officers, firefighters, and emergency vehicles.
