Cheer Extreme DMV, located in Gaithersburg, recently took five of its 11 teams to Orlando, Florida to compete in some of the largest and most prestigious end-of-season cheerleading championship events in the world.
The program’s Senior Coed Level 6 team competed at The Cheerleading Worlds and delivered a HIT ZERO performance, meaning the routine was completed without deductions or major mistakes, a major accomplishment on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
Four additional Cheer Extreme DMV teams earned bids to compete at The Summit Championship. Three of those four teams received the Peak Performance award following strong HIT ZERO routines during competition. One team advanced to Finals and ultimately earned a 9th place finish in the world.
Program representatives said this marked only the second season Cheer Extreme DMV has taken teams to The Summit Championship and highlighted the continued growth of the Gaithersburg-based program in the highly competitive all-star cheerleading world.
Tryouts for the upcoming season will take place Saturday, May 16. The gym says it offers teams for all ages and skill levels.
