Gap Factory at 1667 Rockville Pike in Congressional Plaza will open on Wednesday, May 20. The store is located in the former site of Lands’ End, which permanently closed in January.
Gap Factory offers year-round discounted pricing and produces exclusive apparel lines specifically for its outlet-style stores, rather than selling leftover merchandise from traditional Gap locations. Signage at the location indicates that the new store is expected to open this summer.
There is an addition Montgomery County Gap Factory location at the Clarksburg Premium Outlets. Gap closed its Westfield Montgomery Mall location in July 2025.
Last year, Federal Realty announced that Nordstrom Rack will open a 26,000-square-foot store at Congressional Plaza in fall 2026 at 1683 Rockville Pike, the site previously home to Buy Buy Baby.
