The Montgomery County Planning Department is conducting a survey specifically for people who work in-person in Montgomery County at least most of the time but live outside the County. Officials noted the survey does not apply to individuals who only attend school or use services in Montgomery County.
According to Montgomery Planning, the survey aims to better understand the complex decisions people make when choosing where to live and how those decisions may change over time. The information collected will help guide future housing and planning policies to better address housing preferences and needs across the region.
The research is being conducted by Root Policy Research, an independent research firm, on behalf of Montgomery Planning. “Do you work in Montgomery County but live outside the County? We’re conducting a survey to understand the complex decisions people make when choosing a place to live outside MoCo,” Montgomery Planning shared. “Your input will help guide future housing and planning decisions.”
Officials also emphasized that survey responses are confidential and that participants’ names will not be linked to their responses. The department added that the survey is not associated with any political party, election, or ballot issue.
