Coming soon signage is now up for Wonder, one of three upcoming new tenants set to take over the former Party City space in Gaithersburg’s Kentlands neighborhood.
We first reported back in March that Wonder had signed on for the redevelopment, and in April reported that VEG ER for Pets, also known as Veterinary Emergency Group, would occupy the largest of the subdivided spaces. One remaining space, located between Coal Fire and the upcoming Wonder location, is still vacant.
Wonder describes itself as a “modern” food hall concept that allows customers to order dishes from multiple restaurants in a single delivery or pickup order. The company partners with a range of chefs and restaurant brands, offering everything from burgers and salads to pizza, Asian dishes, and desserts through one centralized kitchen operation.
Meanwhile, VEG ER for Pets will introduce the county’s first location for the rapidly expanding emergency veterinary provider. The company is known for its open-concept hospitals, where pet owners are encouraged to stay with their animals throughout treatment, including during procedures and surgeries.
VEG locations operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, with no appointments required. The hospitals treat dogs, cats, birds, reptiles, rabbits, ferrets, and other exotic pets, while emphasizing immediate triage and rapid treatment upon arrival.
Based on current construction progress, neither Wonder nor VEG appears likely to open in the immediate future, though work is continuing steadily at the site.
