About KEEN Greater DC:
KEEN Greater DC’s mission is to empower youth with disabilities by providing free, non-competitive one-to-one programs of exercise, fitness and fun, led by volunteer coaches. From five children in a local gym in 1992, KEEN has grown to now serve more than 500 young people with disabilities in the DC area through 60 monthly sessions such as gym-based sports, dance, fitness, swim, and bowling. At each session, KEEN Greater DC matches a trained volunteer coach one-to-one with a KEEN athlete, enabling every child – especially those with significant disabilities – to play, exercise, socialize, and to be part of a team in their community.
