Suspect Charged With Murder in Deadly Marriott Hotel Shooting

Montgomery County police have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting that occurred earlier this month outside the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center in North Bethesda.

According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, 41-year-old Terrance Brainell Williams of Silver Spring was taken into custody on Wednesday, May 27 and is charged with first-degree murder in the death of 41-year-old Quentin Tyrone Davis.

Police said officers and Montgomery County Fire Rescue personnel responded around 11:37 am on May 14 to the 5700 block of Marinelli Road for a reported shooting. Responders located Davis in the parking lot of the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators say Davis was walking toward the hotel when he was approached by Williams, who allegedly shot him before fleeing the area.

Detectives reviewed surveillance footage showing a vehicle parked near the scene before the shooting. Police said Williams was seen exiting the vehicle, walking toward the hotel, and later returning to the car before driving away on Rockville Pike. Investigators determined Williams and Davis knew each other and connected Williams to the vehicle seen leaving the area. Williams is currently being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit pending a bond hearing.
