The Montgomery County Department of Transportation is advising residents of overnight road closures and bus service disruptions in Silver Spring as Purple Line construction continues through June 6.
Beginning nightly through Saturday morning, June 6, Wayne Avenue will be closed in both directions between Dale Drive and Sligo Creek Parkway from 10 pm to 4 am while crews install overhead wires for the Purple Line. Pedestrian access through the work zone will remain open, though pedestrians are advised to follow posted detours and instructions from construction personnel.
Ride On passengers should expect temporary service impacts during the overnight closures, with several bus stops along Wayne Avenue out of service while construction is underway. MCDOT is encouraging riders to check for detour information and alternate stop locations before traveling.
