Doughboys Pizza is coming to Cloverly, taking over the former Bear Brick Oven Pizza space at 15410 New Hampshire Avenue.
According to the owners, Doughboys Pizza is being launched by three friends who plan to build on the foundation established by Bear Brick while expanding the menu and maintaining a similar neighborhood-focused atmosphere. In addition to pizza, wings, and Maryland craft beers, the restaurant plans to continue popular community events such as live music performances and trivia nights.
The owners say the menu will feature an expanded selection of offerings, with guidance from a Michelin-starred chef from the United Kingdom. Doughboys is currently targeting a summer opening, potentially late-July, pending approvals. The restaurant has a DLC hearing scheduled this week and expects to begin hiring staff in the coming weeks.
The space was previously occupied by Bear Brick Oven Pizza, which closed earlier this year after a little more than four years in business. Bear Brick opened in April 2021 and became known for its brick oven pizzas, sandwiches, salads, local craft beer selection, and community events.
