A two-vehicle crash on I-270 southbound just past Montgomery Village Avenue (MD 124) caused delays during the morning commute on Thursday.
According to MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer, the crash involved two vehicles with one overturned due to the collision. MCFRS crews responded to the scene, and EMS personnel evaluated several people for injuries. No life-threatening injuries (NLTI) were reported.
The crash initially blocked lanes, with only the two right lanes getting by. As of the latest update from MATOC, the incident has been cleared to the left shoulder and all travel lanes have reopened.
Drivers dealt with residual delays on I-270 southbound beginning before MD 27 as traffic continued to recover, but things have returned back to normal prior to the evening commute.
