Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded around 8:12 p.m. to the 2900 block of Dawson Avenue in Silver Spring for a reported house fire after smoke was seen coming from the roof.
According to MCFRS spokesperson David Pazos, crews located a smoldering fire above the home’s electrical panel, and all occupants evacuated safely without injuries.
Power was disconnected to the entire home, displacing a family of eight. The cause of the fire has not been released.
