Small Plane Lands Safely At Montgomery County Airpark After Landing Gear Issue

A small aircraft landed safely Friday morning at Montgomery County Airpark in Gaithersburg after experiencing landing gear issues while attempting to land.

Montgomery County Police said the aircraft was attempting to land when it experienced problems with its landing gear. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service responded to the airport in the 7900 block of Airpark Road, while the aircraft remained in the air, circling as the pilot worked to resolve the issue before attempting to land.

According to a witness at the scene, the aircraft landed safely. Woodfield Road and Muncaster Mill Road were closed at Airpark Road during the incident as emergency crews responded. No injuries have been reported.
