Montgomery County Police have arrested a 39-year-old man and charged him with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a Gaithersburg woman who was found inside her apartment last weekend.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, detectives with the Major Crimes Division – Homicide Unit arrested 39-year-old Sean Robinson in connection with the death of 37-year-old Ashlei Jones. Officers and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue personnel responded on Sunday, June 21, to the 8500 block of Snouffer School Road for a report of a working code. Upon arrival, officers found Jones inside an apartment suffering from trauma to her upper body. Officers attempted lifesaving measures until fire and rescue personnel arrived, but Jones was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jones was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy determined that she died from multiple sharp force injuries. Her death was ruled a homicide on Monday, June 22.
Investigators determined that Robinson and Jones lived together in the apartment on Snouffer School Road. Detectives executed a search warrant at the residence and recovered items of evidentiary value. On Tuesday, June 23, detectives obtained an arrest warrant charging Robinson with first-degree murder.
Robinson was arrested on Thursday, June 25, and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is awaiting a bond hearing.
