Montgomery County Police responded Tuesday afternoon to the 12800 block of Bushey Drive, off of Connecticut Ave., in Silver Spring after a vehicle crashed into a home.
According to police, the incident began with a collision involving an off-duty Montgomery County police officer. Police say the driver, a 15-year-old, left the scene of that collision before crashing into the house.
The teen driver was taken into custody following the crash. Two other occupants who were inside the vehicle ran from the scene. In an update issued around 5:01pm, Montgomery County Police said those two occupants have since been identified but will not face charges.
The off-duty officer was not transported to a hospital. Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service crews remained on scene Tuesday afternoon working to remove the vehicle from the home. The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
