Man Charged After Woman Says She Was Handcuffed and Kidnapped

A Montgomery County man was arrested Monday morning after a woman told police she had been handcuffed and kidnapped by him during a traffic stop near Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport.

According to the Maryland Transportation Authority Police, officers stopped a black Chevrolet Malibu shortly before 9 a.m. near the intersection of W. Nursery Road and Elm Road in Linthicum after observing the driver make an illegal turn. Police identified the driver as 24-year-old Bryan Neal Gordon of Silver Spring.

During the traffic stop, an adult female passenger exited the vehicle and told officers that Gordon had kidnapped her and restrained her with handcuffs. Additional officers and investigators responded to the scene to collect evidence and conduct interviews. Gordon was arrested and transported to the Jennifer Road Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. He faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, false imprisonment and assault, in addition to traffic offenses.
