Governor Wes Moore has announced $1.23 million in grants to help nearly 600 Marylanders gain skills for careers in high-growth industries increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies.
The funding, awarded through the Maryland Lighthouse Industries Upskilling and Reskilling Program, will support workforce training in life sciences, technology, cybersecurity, aerospace, defense and manufacturing. Recipients include BioBuzz Networks, Maryland MEP, the University of Maryland, College Park, Fearless Institute, Technology Advancement Center, Davis Unlimited Information Technologies and HUBZone Council.
The program is part of a broader $4 million state investment aimed at expanding workforce development opportunities, strengthening Maryland’s talent pipeline and preparing workers for jobs in industries expected to see continued growth.
