According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service, a driver was rescued after becoming trapped inside an overturned Tesla following a crash on northbound I-270 at Shady Grove Road in Rockville late Thursday night.
According to MCFRS, crews were dispatched to the scene at approximately 10:30pm. Upon arrival, firefighters found the Tesla overturned with one occupant trapped inside.
Firefighters from Rescue Squad 703 stabilized the vehicle before successfully extricating the driver. Units from Company 3, Company 32 and Battalion 703 also responded to assist with the rescue.
After being freed from the vehicle and evaluated by paramedics, the driver was transported to a local hospital for further treatment. The extent of the person’s injuries has not been released.
MCFRS credited the coordinated efforts of all responding personnel for helping ensure a rapid and safe rescue operation.
