Burtonsville will celebrate its local food scene later this month with the inaugural Taste of Burtonsville, a community event featuring international cuisine, live music, and family-friendly activities.
The event will take place on Saturday, July 25, from 11am to 2pm in the parking lot behind Restaurant 198, located at 15540 Old Columbia Pike. This event was originally scheduled for April, but was cancelled due to weather.
Hosted by the East County Regional Services Center and the Greater Silver Spring Chamber of Commerce, the free event will give attendees the opportunity to sample dishes from local restaurants, enjoy live music by The JoGo Project, and visit a Kids Activity Zone.
Admission to the event is free and includes access to the live entertainment and children’s activities. Food samples will be available for purchase through a ticket system. A seven-ticket package is available in advance for $25, while individual tickets will be sold at the event for $5 each.
“This event is an opportunity for people from throughout Montgomery County to visit Burtonsville, support local restaurants, and experience everything this vibrant area has to offer,” said Montgomery County Executive Marc Elrich. “Small businesses are a big part of the fabric of this community, and an event like this is a great way to showcase them. I encourage everyone to attend, enjoy the food and music, and learn more about what Burtonsville has to offer.”
Parking will be available at and near the event site, and organizers encourage attendees to arrive early and follow posted parking instructions and directions from event staff. More information about the Taste of Burtonsville, including food ticket details and participating vendors, can be found at the Taste of Burtonsville Eventbrite website.
