Montgomery County-founded Tequila Rimari, created by Clarksburg residents Dheeraj Naidu and Vrunda Parekh, has earned new national recognition after both of its tequila expressions received Double Gold medals at the 2026 SIP Awards.
The brand’s Rimari Blanco and Rimari Reposado each received Double Gold honors, while the Blanco also earned the competition’s Consumers’ Choice Award, recognizing consecutive years of Double Gold recognition. Unlike many spirits competitions that rely on industry judges, the SIP Awards are determined through blind tastings conducted by consumers.
The latest honors add to a growing list of awards for the tequila brand. Earlier this year, Rimari Blanco received Double Gold at the Agavos Awards and Gold at the New York International Spirits Competition, while the Reposado earned Gold at the Agavos Awards and Silver at the New York International Spirits Competition.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Dheeraj Naidu and Vrunda Parekh, who live in Clarksburg, Tequila Rimari is produced in the Highlands of Jalisco, Mexico, at the historic NOM 1414 distillery. According to the company, the tequila is made using mature Highland Blue Weber agave and a proprietary fermentation process that incorporates premium sake yeast, creating floral aromas and tropical fruit notes while maintaining traditional tequila characteristics.
Tequila Rimari launched in Montgomery County last year and is available at Oak Barrel & Vine stores throughout the county, with distribution continuing to expand across the United States. Since its debut, the company says it has focused on blending traditional tequila-making techniques with innovative production methods while building recognition among consumers and spirits competitions nationwide.
