Alatri Bros. Temporarily Closes Following Death of Cherished Team Member

Alatri Bros. in Bethesda has temporarily closed following the death of what the restaurant described as “a cherished member of the Alatri Family.”

In a statement shared Saturday, the restaurant said it would be closed to regular service until further notice “out of respect for our team and to allow us time to grieve and support one another.”

The restaurant noted it would still fulfill one previously planned catered event for a party of 20 with assistance from a nearby catering partner, but said it remains closed to regular public service. “We sincerely appreciate your understanding, compassion, and patience during this difficult time,” the statement reads. “We will share an update regarding our reopening as soon as we are able.”

Alatri Bros. opened in Bethesda in 2017. Owned by the Pietrobono family, who also own Olazzo and Gringos & Mariachis, the pizzeria took over the space at 4926 Cordell Avenue previously occupied by Mia’s Pizza. The restaurant did not identify the team member or provide additional details.
