South Germantown Adventure Playground Ribbon-Cutting Postponed To Sunday, July 19 Due To Weather

Montgomery Parks has postponed the ribbon-cutting celebration for the newly renovated South Germantown Adventure Playground due to the forecast for inclement weather.

The event, originally scheduled for Saturday, July 18, will now take place on Sunday, July 19, 2026, from 2pm to 4pm at the South Germantown Adventure Playground, located at 17920 Germantown Park Drive in Boyds.

The celebration will include a brief speaking program, followed by a visit from Otus the Owl, along with plenty of time for families to explore the newly renovated playground. Light refreshments will also be provided.

The event marks the completion of a major renovation project that began in December 2025, transforming the popular playground into a more inclusive and modern play space with new play equipment, accessible features, nature-based play elements, expanded seating and picnic areas, updated signage, fitness and game areas, native landscaping, and other improvements.

Located within the 695-acre South Germantown Recreational Park, the Adventure Playground has been a favorite destination for families since opening in 2003.
