Agora Restaurant has officially opened its first Maryland location inside the Hyatt Regency Bethesda at One Bethesda Metro Center, bringing the popular family-owned Mediterranean restaurant to the heart of downtown Bethesda.
The restaurant, which welcomed its first dinner guests on Saturday, July 18, marks Agora’s third DMV location and its largest to date. Lunch, breakfast, and brunch service are expected to launch later this summer.
Founded by husband-and-wife team Betul and Ismail Uslu, Agora has spent more than 15 years serving Mediterranean cuisine at its Washington, D.C., and Virginia locations. The Bethesda restaurant will also become the group’s first location to serve breakfast seven days a week.
The menu features Mediterranean dishes inspired by the culinary traditions of Türkiye, Greece, and Lebanon, including a wide variety of mezze, grilled meats, fresh seafood, house-made spreads, and traditional desserts. Popular menu items include grilled branzino, octopus, beef and lamb kebabs, a slow-cooked lamb shoulder designed for sharing, baklava, and kunefe. The restaurant also offers vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and celiac-friendly options.
When breakfast launches later this summer, guests can expect Mediterranean-inspired offerings including Mediterranean-style fried eggs, Aegean avocado toast, and Sunrise Porridge made with almond milk, pine honey, and orange zest.
The new Bethesda location includes private dining rooms for up to 50 guests, semi-private event space for up to 120 people, a 100-seat patio, and can accommodate up to 300 guests for full restaurant buyouts.
Agora Bethesda is located at One Bethesda Metro Center, Bethesda, MD 20814, just steps from Bethesda Row and the Bethesda Metro station.
