Round1 Bowling & Arcade Eyes FY2027 Opening for Second Maryland Location

Round1 Bowling & Arcade will take another step toward opening its highly anticipated Westfield Wheaton location when it appears before Montgomery County’s Alcohol Beverage Services (ABS) Board on Thursday, August 6, at 11am.

The hearing is another milestone as the nearly 49,000 SF entertainment venue continues working toward an opening during fiscal year 2027, which runs from October 1, 2026, through September 30, 2027. An official opening date has not yet been announced.

As we previously reported in March, “Coming Soon” signage has been displayed at Westfield Wheaton, where Round1 is transforming the former Hollywood East Cafe space (and more) into one of Montgomery County’s largest indoor entertainment destinations. The Wheaton venue will be the company’s second Maryland location, following the opening of its Towson Town Center location in December 2019.

According to Westfield Wheaton, the new Round1 will feature state-of-the-art bowling lanes, arcade games imported directly from Japan, more than 100 crane machines, private karaoke rooms, billiards, and additional interactive attractions for guests of all ages.

The venue will also include food and beverage options serving Japanese favorites, classic arcade snacks, and a full bar for guests 21 and older. Round1 has become known for combining bowling, arcade gaming, dining, and nightlife into a single entertainment destination.

Round1 currently operates more than 57 locations across the United States and continues expanding into major shopping and entertainment centers.
