One of Montgomery County’s most celebrated Halloween attractions has officially revealed when the scares will return.
Markoff’s Haunted Forest in Dickerson will kick off its 2026 season on Friday, October 2, with the attraction operating on select nights through Sunday, November 8. According to Markoff’s, guests can expect the return of its immersive haunted experience, promising a season that is “bigger, scarier, and more immersive than ever.”
While the full event calendar has now been released, tickets are not yet on sale. The attraction says its ticket on-sale date will be announced at a later time. Markoff’s Haunted Forest recently completed its 33rd season and earned the distinction of being ranked the #1 haunted attraction in the world by The Scare Factor, a leading industry reviewer of haunted attractions.
According to The Scare Factor, Markoff’s received the highest overall score across all review categories, with praise for its creativity, handcrafted sets, and immersive storytelling. The attraction traces its roots back to 1992, when the Markoff family began with a haunted school bus before expanding into today’s large-scale experience featuring The Forest, The Town, and a midway filled with food, entertainment, and activities.
