ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported Monday morning that the wife of Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator and former Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy was shot Sunday night at the couple’s home in Ashburn, Virginia.
According to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded at approximately 7:32 p.m. on July 26 to the 20000 block of Northpark Drive for a reported shooting. When deputies arrived, they located an adult female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.
Authorities arrested 27-year-old Elijah Zion Bieniemy of Ashburn in connection with the shooting. He has been charged with malicious wounding, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and discharge of a firearm inside of a dwelling.
Elijah Bieniemy was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he is being held without bond. The Sheriff’s Office said the investigation remains ongoing and that there is no believed threat to the public.
