Dave’s Hot Chicken is continuing its expansion in Montgomery County, with plans to open a new restaurant in the former Potbelly space at 544 N. Frederick Avenue in the Gaithersburg Square shopping center.
The upcoming Gaithersburg restaurant will mark Dave’s Hot Chicken’s third Montgomery County location, joining its existing restaurants in White Oak and Rockville.
Founded as a late-night pop-up in Los Angeles in 2017, Dave’s Hot Chicken has grown into one of the country’s fastest-expanding restaurant chains, with backing from celebrity investors including Drake and Samuel L. Jackson. The menu centers on Nashville-style hot chicken tenders and sliders, with spice levels ranging from “Lite Mild” to the chain’s signature “Reaper,” along with sides including crinkle-cut fries, mac and cheese, and milkshakes.
An opening timeframe for the Gaithersburg location has not yet been announced.
