An adult male was critically injured after being struck by a train Friday morning in the Dickerson area.
Montgomery County Police and Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service were dispatched at approximately 10:30am to the area of Mt. Ephraim Rd. and Dickerson Rd. for the report of a pedestrian struck by a train.
According to MCFRS, the man was being treated as a Priority 1 patient as fire and rescue personnel worked to extricate, treat and prepare him for transport by Maryland State Police Trooper 3. MCPD later confirmed that the man was airlifted to an area hospital in critical condition.
Train movement in the area was temporarily stopped for the safety of emergency personnel operating at the scene. MCFRS Battalion 5 had command of the incident. Additional information will be provided if it becomes available.
