Dan Quinn Provides Updates on Multiple Commanders Injuries

Commanders head coach Dan Quinn provided updates Wednesday on injuries affecting several defensive players. During the preseason, teams are not required to disclose detailed injury information, so timetables for returns are not always available.

Free-agent addition K’Lavon Chaisson injured his knee during the Commanders’ joint practice with the Miami Dolphins. ESPN’s John Keim reported that the injury is not considered significant.

Defensive lineman Johnny Newton injured his pectoral muscle during the preseason game against Miami and is scheduled to see a specialist in New York on Wednesday. The injury could be long-term, but the team expects to know more following the visit.

Outside linebacker Odafe Oweh, the Commanders’ biggest free-agent addition of the offseason, is dealing with a strained calf. The severity of the injury is not yet known. Linebacker Jordan Magee injured his shoulder and will be held out this week.

Ben Standig reports that defensive tackle Tim Settle, who has been out with a strained calf, will test the injury today and potentially return to practice tomorrow if all goes well.
