Germantown-based Great Kids Events, formerly known as Andy’s Parties, has announced an ownership change after more than two decades in business.
Founders Andy and Paula Ross have sold the company to Brandon Weston. Great Kids Events will continue operating as usual under its new ownership, according to the company.
Founded in 2004, Great Kids Events provides children’s entertainment and event services. The company says it has delivered nearly 10,000 events and employed more than 1,000 people during its 22-year history.
“This business has been an incredibly meaningful part of our lives for more than two decades,” Andy Ross said. “Paula and I are tremendously proud of what we have built, the thousands of families we have had the privilege of serving, and the many people who have been part of our team over the years.”
Ross said the founders are confident in the company’s future under Weston. As part of the transition, Andy Ross will remain involved with Great Kids Events for the next year and will continue to be available to customers while assisting with the ownership handoff.
Weston said his goal is to preserve what customers value about the company while introducing new energy and ideas.
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to lead Great Kids Events and build on everything Andy and Paula have accomplished,” Weston said. “They have created a remarkable business and a tremendous legacy.”
The company said customers, employees and event partners should expect operations to continue as usual throughout the transition.
