Two Maryland restaurants have been included in Tasting Table’s list of the “14 Best Seafood Spots Guy Fieri Visited on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives.”
Jimmy’s Famous Seafood in Baltimore and Stoney Creek Inn in Anne Arundel County both earned spots on the list, with each restaurant recognized for its Maryland-style crab dishes and longstanding family traditions.
Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, located at 6526 Holabird Ave in Baltimore, has served the community since 1974. The restaurant was founded by the late Dimitrios “Jimmy” Minadakis and is now operated by his sons, who have expanded the business into a nationally recognized brand that ships food across the country.
Jimmy’s made its Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives debut in 2020. During his visit, Fieri sampled the restaurant’s crab cakes, which use a family recipe featuring generous portions of crab meat with minimal binders and fillers.
Tasting Table described the resulting crab cake as “nothing short of divine.” The publication also highlighted co-owner and chef Tony Minadakis, who received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Restaurant Association of Maryland in 2022 and has appeared on Beat Bobby Flay.
Stoney Creek Inn, located at 8238 Fort Smallwood Rd in Greenland Beach, opened in 2001 and serves communities throughout Anne Arundel County.
The casual neighborhood restaurant’s recipes have roots in Baltimore’s historic Cross Street Market, where the previous owner’s family operated seafood stalls. Its menu includes crab cakes, steamed crabs, crab balls, shrimp salad, Maryland crab soup, cream of crab soup, local oysters, crab dip, crab pretzels and other Maryland favorites.
Stoney Creek Inn appeared in a 2008 episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives titled “Traditional Dishes.” Fieri’s visit featured a traditional Maryland steamed crab feast, with Tasting Table praising the restaurant’s dedication to preparing the state’s signature seafood and its friendly service.
