Big Greek Cafe officially opened its newest restaurant on Monday, August 31, at 5221 Buckeystown Pike in Frederick’s Westview Promenade. The restaurant is open daily from 11am until 9pm.
The new restaurant takes over the former Noodles & Company space, which became vacant earlier this year. It marks Big Greek Cafe’s second Frederick County location, joining its Urbana restaurant in Village Square at Urbana, which opened in 2022.
Founded in Montgomery County in 2009 by twin brothers Nikos and Simos Marmaras, Big Greek Cafe was created to honor the dream of their late mother, Koralia Marmaras, who envisioned a restaurant serving the comforting Greek dishes she prepared for family and friends.
The family’s restaurant roots span generations. Their father, Vassilios Marmaras, immigrated from the Greek island of Andros and has worked in the restaurant industry since 1968.
