Yu Noodles, which operates Montgomery County locations in Rockville and Silver Spring, has been named one of “The Best Cheap Eats Around the DC Area” by Washingtonian.
The recently published list highlights 60 restaurants where diners can get what Washingtonian describes as a satisfying meal for less than $25 per person, excluding drinks, tax and tip. More than 200 restaurants throughout the region were considered for the list.
Washingtonian highlighted Yu Noodles for its focus on the spicy street food of Chongqing and its house-made noodles. Among the dishes singled out were Yibin spicy dry noodles with minced pork and crushed peanuts, noodle soup with flounder and sour pickled cabbage, rainbow soup dumplings and wontons in spicy oil, along with fruity boba drinks.
Yu Noodles currently has six Maryland locations, including two in Rockville at 9 Dawson Avenue and 387 East Gude Drive, and one in Silver Spring at 930 Wayne Avenue. Additional Maryland locations are in Baltimore, Columbia and Ellicott City.
The restaurant’s menu extends beyond noodles with soup dumplings, rice plates, cold appetizers and desserts. Popular offerings include beef brisket rice noodle mushroom soup, noodles in scallion oil with chicken, pork chop over rice with poached egg, cucumber with garlic sauce and black sticky rice with coconut milk and mango.
