The DC South Asian Film Festival will celebrate its 15th anniversary September 11–13 at Regal Rockville Center, bringing South Asian features, shorts and documentaries to downtown Rockville. Virtual screenings will follow September 14-30.
The festival will take place at 199 E. Montgomery Ave., with opening night beginning at 6:30pm on Friday, September 11. In addition to screenings, programming includes filmmaker conversations, master classes and post-screening discussions.
“52 Blue” will open this year’s festival, while “Lali,” which premiered at the 2026 Berlin International Film Festival, will serve as the closing film. Individual tickets are on sale, with prices listed at $15–$25. The virtual portion will extend the festival through the end of September, offering additional opportunities to watch films beyond the in-person weekend.
