A Germantown woman has won a $50,000 Pick 5 prize for the second time this year, just months after claiming another $50,000 win in April.
The retired postal worker regularly plays Pick 3, Pick 4 and Pick 5, with her grandson purchasing her tickets each week. Her numbers 12912 matched the August 23 evening Pick 5 drawing straight, earning her the $50,000 prize.
Earlier that day, the woman and her grandson stopped at a roadside farm stand where customers pay using an honor box. After seeing others take items without paying, she made sure to leave money for her purchases. Her grandson later joked that good karma led to her second big win.
The woman plans to use some of the money for home renovations, save some and share some with her grandson. The winning ticket was purchased at Town Center Sunoco at 19738 Germantown Road, which will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
