Purple Line construction will require overnight closures of the intersection of Wayne Ave and Fenton St in downtown Silver Spring beginning on or about Monday, September 14.
The intersection is scheduled to close from 10pm-4am through Friday, September 25, while crews install overhead catenary wires over the intersection. Resident and pedestrian access will be maintained. Drivers should follow posted signage and detours.
In Long Branch, the long-term closure of Arliss St between Piney Branch Rd and Garland Ave remains in effect. Crews are installing utilities and constructing the Purple Line’s Long Branch Station.
Drivers, pedestrians and cyclists are reminded to follow posted signs and detours and stay out of construction work zones.
