The Prince George’s County Police Department’s Gun Crimes Unit is investigating a shooting that injured a 19-year-old woman at an illegal car meetup in Landover early Sunday morning.
According to police, officers responded to the 3200 block of Hubbard Rd at approximately 2:30am on September 13, 2026. The woman was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound. Her injuries are considered non-life-threatening.
The preliminary investigation suggests a fight broke out at the meetup, resulting in the shooting. Detectives are working to identify the suspect or suspects.
Police Chief George Nader urged people to avoid illegal car meetups and encouraged parents and guardians to speak with teenagers and young adults about the dangers of attending these events.
Investigators are asking witnesses and anyone with dash camera or cell phone footage of the incident to contact police, noting that even footage that may seem insignificant could help the investigation.
