Wegmans Temporarily Closes Due to Server Issue

Wegmans in Rockville is temporarily closed due to what the grocery chain describes as a server issue. The Germantown store remains open.

A notice posted by Wegmans states, “Due to a server issue, our Rockville store is closed and all online ordering services are unavailable. Thank you for your patience as we work to reopen.”

The closure is not expected to be long term. As of Tuesday afternoon, Wegmans had not announced when the store would reopen. Customers also reported being turned away from the store Tuesday as its payment system was down.

The Rockville Wegmans opened on June 25, 2025, at 1590 Rockville Pike in the Twinbrook Quarter development. The 80,000 SF store employs approximately 400 people and became Wegmans’ ninth location in Maryland.

The Rockville location typically operates daily from 6am to midnight. We’ll provide an update when the store reopens.

The Wegmans website as of 4:29pm on Tuesday, 9/15/26
