5:33pm Update: All lanes of southbound MD-182 (Layhill Rd) at Bel Pre Rd have reopened. Expect residual delays.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews are on the scene of a two-vehicle collision involving multiple patients near Layhill Road and Bel Pre Road.
According to MCFRS spokesperson Pete Piringer, five EMS units are among the crews responding to the collision. Some lanes were initially reported blocked.
Alert Montgomery later issued a severe traffic alert stating that all southbound lanes of MD-182 (Layhill Road) are closed at Bel Pre Road due to the incident.
Drivers should expect significant delays in the area and are advised to seek an alternate route. Additional information regarding the number of patients and the extent of any injuries has not yet been announced.
